Fellowship Ministry at All Saints' Church
The primary role of the Fellowship Ministry is to provide opportunities for the Body of Christ to come together in service, celebration and fellowship. This ministry relies on teams of volunteers who help with events at every level of participation. Participating in the Fellowship Ministry offers a volunteers a great opportunity to get to know other members of All Saints' family.
Short-term volunteer opportunities at All Saints'
Event Coordinator: One person is usually responsible for coordinating all aspects of a specific event. Depending on the size of the event, there may be a need for an assistant coordinator.
Food preparation: Prior to an event, volunteers shop for all required groceries, and cook (or sometimes order) food and beverages. These are not always meals, but can be small snacks, depending on the event.
Kitchen assistants: Volunteers help set out food, serve guests, clear tables, wrap leftovers, and wash, dry, and put away dishes.
Event Activities: Volunteers help plan themes, and arrange fun activities and games to be played during an event. This task occasionally requires obtaining prizes (donations, certificates, etc. from area vendors).
Creativity/decorating: Volunteers accumulate, purchase, or design their own decorations, to include centerpieces for the more formal events, and work with other event volunteers to transform rooms into festival venues.
Publicity/Advertising: Volunteers will be responsibile for creating newsletter and bulletin announcements for events, as well as creating promotional displays and coordinating announcements during Sunday morning services.
Other ongoing needs:
Coffee Hour volunteers: Coffee hour is different from individual events. This aspect of the ministry serves coffee and refreshments weekly during Sunday morning Felloship Hour (10:30-11:00 a.m.), and cleans the kitchen area when the guests have departed. This is a rotating volunteer position, where each volunteer assists one Sunday each month.
Shoppers: A shopper would be responsible for taking a weekly inventory of the church's kitchen supplies (coffee, tea, cups, plates, etc.) This job also entails making a bi-monthy shopping trip to replenish supplies.
