Outreach Ministry
The Outreach Ministry helps oversee the involvement of the members of this parish in personal, financial, and spiritual support for ministries outside All Saints' Church. There are numerous opportunities for personal involvement to support those in need, either as a committee member or as a volunteer in community programs. You may also advocate worthy ministries to the committee for financial support through the All Saints' Outreach budget. Contact Carol Updike at 703-670-0093.
Other Outreach Programs
Homeless Outreach (Compassion in Action)
All Saints' participates in numerous outreach projects for the local homeless community. Projects throughout the year include providing meals to those at the homeless center, bringing blankets and clothing to the men's shelter, conducting on-site bible studies, shopping with homeless children at Christmastime, and much more.
ACTS
All Saints' has partnered with the ACTS (Action in the Community Through Service) through various volunteer efforts. This partnership helps stock the ACTS food pantry, provides meals at Thanksgiving, and assists with operations at the battered Women's Shelter and ACTS helpline.
Vacation Bible School
All Saints' took its annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) into the back yards of its parishoners this year, in order to reach children in their neighborhoods. The program was a great success and may become a new tradition for this church. See the VBS scrapbook for a look at some of the activities.
Saints' in Action
For one week, All Saints' parishoners went to all corners of the community to establish relationships and help those in need. Some went to retirement centers to "adopt" grandparents, others cooked and served meals for the homeless, still others joined efforts to repair homes and outreach facilities in our neighborhood. By serving our community in this way, our hope is that these relationships will grow and flourish, as we continue to reach out to others with the Love of Jesus. Shoppers' Vouchers
Shoppers Vouchers are available the first Sunday of each month. This program allows a portion of your purchase from Shoppers Food Warehouse to be sent to Uganda to support educational needs in North Kigezi. For more information stop by the table after the services or contact Mary Wang.
