Turning on the Power
Dear Fellow All Saints’ Church Members:
With the completion of the “First Fruits” offering on June 6, the “Turning On the Power” (TOtP) Capital Campaign formally enters a 3-year sustainment phase that will take us into our new building on Gideon Drive and beyond! We would like to thank all of the people who have pledged just under $2,000,000.00 to “TotP”. Given all that has gone before, this is a remarkable outpouring of generosity by God’s people to the Lord. Giving to “TOtP” allows the Gideon Drive “Owner’s Budget” to proceed with expenditures (estimated to be $1.5 M) that fall outside of the construction loan. These expenditures have already begun and will continue over the next 18 months. Further, as in any construction project of this magnitude, we must be ready to meet an estimated $500,000 of contingencies and change orders that arise over the course of construction and occupation of the new building. Given the 18-month window of the “Owner’s Budget”, we encourage our “TOtP” giving to fall within that timeline, wherever possible.
We would also like to thank the more than 100 people who helped make “TOtP” possible by their efforts in support of the campaign process and events in many ways, both great and small—especially the over 30 intercessors who prayed this campaign and its leaders through. We want to especially recognize Bishop John for his spiritual and practical leadership of this 3rd Capital Campaign since 2001, and further recognize the extraordinary efforts and leadership of our campaign Executive Committee, consisting of Fr. Mark Brown, Kerry Walters, Roger Ellefson, Jerry Fitzsimmons, and our consultant, Randy Watts. In addition, six special people contributed a tremendous amount of work and leadership to head up the major functional areas of the “TOtP” Steering Committee. They are Martha Saunders (Communications), Michele Halbeisen (Admin), Palmer and Tara Denney (Gathering Event), Rebecca Rahl (Neighborhood Coffees), Chris Brown (Spiritual Emphasis), and Lindsey Feldman (Children’s Ministries). Again, many more “willing hands and hearts” helped put this campaign on—too many to single out by name, but you know who you are and more importantly, so does the Lord.
Over the next three years it is our intent to continue to encourage new members who come into the life of All Saints’ to also make their own individual commitments to “TOtP” and to encourage those current members who have not, for whatever reason, made a pledge to do so. Pledge material will continue to be available through the church office. Individual gifts (non-pledge) are always welcome from All Saints’ Church members and non-members alike, and can be made at any time; however, please ensure they are clearly designated for “TOtP” so they do not inadvertently end up in the general operating account.
Once again, it has been our pleasure and great joy to serve the Lord and All Saints’ Church as the “Turning On the Power” Capital Campaign Co-Chairs. We give all thanks and glory to God, who has sustained us over the past 9 months.
In Him,
Ed & Suzy Speare
